Internet Connection and Setup Guide |

| 1.) Click the Start button in the bottom left corner of your screen | ![]() |

| 2.) Click on the Control Panel button | ||
| 3.) Choose the Network and Internet Connections option. (If you don't find this option see the notes at the bottom.) |

| 4.) Choose the Setup or Change your Internet Connection button. | ![]() |

| 5.) The connections tab is selected by default, please click the Add button. | ![]() |

| 6.) The default option is correct, please click the Next button. | ![]() |

| 7.) Please enter YOUR LOCAL dial-up number and click the Next button. | ![]() |

| 8.) Please type "QC NET" in the space provided and choose the Finish button. Note: This is your connection name there is no required name but support is easier with the proper name. |

| 9.) All Check boxes are by default not checked. If you have any checked un-check them or check with your Systems Administrator. Please enter the Login Name and Password you choose in the spaces provided. Click the OK button |

| 10.) Your connection to the Internet and Internet browser are now setup please click the OK button at the bottom to end the setup. If you use e-mail provided by Quality Computing and do not have it setup, please refer to the Outlook Express Setup Guide. |

Outlook Express Setup Guide |

| This guide is for e-mail setup on Outlook Express for Windows XP | ||
| 1.) Click the Start button in the bottom left corner of your screen. Click the button that reads E-mail Outlook Express Note: If there is not a button that says Outlook Express, reference the end of this section for further instructions on this step. |

| 2.) Enter the name you would like to have displayed on the messages you send, then click the Next button. | ![]() |

| 3.) Type your e-mail address in the space provided and click the Next button. Note: Your e-mail address was given to you when you signed up for internet service; don't use any other e-mail address. |

| 4.) Your email server is a pop3 server, the default is correct for the first question. The incoming and outgoing mail servers are both "mail.qcnet.net". Enter "mail.qcnet.net without the quotes and click next. Note: do not use mail@qcnet.net this is a server name not an e-mail address. |

| 5.) Enter your Account Name and Password in the spaces provided and click the next button. Note 1: Do not click the "Log on using Secure Password Authentication" Note 2: You may uncheck the option that remembers your password if you want your mail to be more secure. Note 3: Your Account Name and User Name are the same. They are the first part of your e-mail address |

| 6.) This page just informs you that everything is setup. Click Finish to exit the connection wizard. Note: If after you click finish the wizard returns to step to you can click cancel. If you were to answer the questions again it would setup another account. This would only be helpful if you have more than one e-mail address that you would like to be checked at the same time. |

| Optional: This will cause Outlook Express to take you directly to your new messages. | ||
| Click Tools from the menu at the top and choose Options. | ![]() |

| Click the box in front of the line that reads: "When starting, go directly to my 'inbox' folder." Click the Apply button and then OK button. | ![]() |

| Special notes: If you have completed step 6 you do not need this section. If you don't have Outlook Express or Internet Explorer listed at the top: Click once on picture at the top of the start menu with your right hand mouse button. (shown in step 1 as a snow flake) Click once with your left hand mouse button on Properties Click the Customize button (can be found on the right side of the window that popped up.) Make sure there is a check box in front of both of the words Internet and E-mail in the bottom section of the window. Click on the arrow that points down at the end of the box after the word Internet Choose on Internet Explorer form the list Click on the arrow that points down at the end of the box after the word E-mail Choose on Outlook Express form the list |
